Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan knows the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
